Submissions

Here at Tolwis, we love well-written, unique books, with a magical twist! 

We are ONLY looking for completed children, middle-grade, and clean young adult books. 

Currently, we are accepting submissions from authors and agents. Please only send us a submission if the book is completed. 

We will only accept a submission that fits the following criteria:

• Children’s picture books with completed illustrations: under 1,000 words
• Early reader books with completed illustrations: 200-3,500 words, depending on age level
• Beginner chapter books: 4,000-10,000 words
• Middle-grade books: 25,000-70,000 words
• Clean (PG-13 or under) young adult books: 50,000-90,000 words
• Coloring and activity books

Topics we’re interested in include:

• Magical realism
• Fairytales with a twist
• Urban fantasy
• Fantasy/Science-Fiction mixes
• Dystopian
• Any other unique fantasy stories

If you think this fits your book, please digitally submit a 1-3 page synopsis of your story, any illustrations or other art that goes with your book, a query letter that includes how you would help to market your book, a list of other books you’ve had published (if applicable), and the first ten pages of your manuscript (not including the title page) using the following formatting guidelines:

• Please only submit a full manuscript if it is requested
• Format as a Microsoft Word document
• Include a title page with your legal name, pen name (if applicable), your phone number, email address, physical address, and author website if you have one
• Use a page header as described here. At the top right of every page (except it’s not needed on the title page) display as follows: your last name/Book Title/page number
• A page footer with the page number of total pages. Example: 1 of 10
• Use Times New Roman with a font size of 12
• Use double spaced lines and 1-inch margins
• Indent paragraphs with .5”

Be advised: We only accept digital submissions that use our manuscript format guidelines as outlined above. If your manuscript does not follow any of our listed guidelines, it will be automatically rejected.
